Former Tottenham and England star Jamie Redknapp feels the three-match ban for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was correct.
Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail: "You can't argue with the ban, can you? The appeals process surely means that it will be reduced to two games, because he has shown contrition, both on the pitch and since the game.
"This punishment shows that UEFA will not tolerate disreputable behaviour. It sends out the right message to the playground and Sunday leagues and will be empowering to referees at every level. He's committed the crime, now he has to serve the punishment."
