Redknapp rues Tottenham's missed chances

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has rued his sides missed chances in the 1-1 draw at home against his former club Portsmouth.

He did however, praise the way his players went about it despite not delivering a killer blow to grab maximum points.

"In the end we missed chance after chance, they (Portsmouth) played well but we showed great character. We had lost two players in the first half and there were three players who were not fit to play on at half-time but we had no choice," Redknapp told Sky Sports 1.

"(Aaron) Lennon had a bad groin and (Vedran) Corluka had a strain and the goalkeeper was obviously struggling as well.

"But to come from 1-0 down they could have easily hid and felt sorry for themselves but they didn't, I thought the lads were fantastic.

"What can he say, he should have scored," Redknapp said of Darren Bent's missed opportunity.

"Jamo (David James) had given it up. I think David was waiting to pick the ball out of the back of the net.

"There is nothing we can do with it now, he didn't miss on purpose, if we continue to play like that we will be ok."
