Tottenham defender William Gallas could be fit to face Newcastle at White Hart Lane on December 28. It was initially feared that the centre-back was facing three weeks of rehabilitation after damaging a hamstring in the 3-3 Champions League draw at FC Twente.
"William Gallas' injury is not as bad as we first feared, he could be fit in another week," boss Harry Redknapp said in The Times.
The Frenchman had played 13 consecutive matches before suffering his injury, but he will not be guaranteed to return to the first team as Michael Dawson has regained fitness and Ledley King might avoid surgery on a groin injury.
"Ledley's training. If he doesn't need an operation he could be back soon," said Redknapp.
