Redknapp rates Johnson as future Portsmouth captain

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp believes Glen Johnson is a future club captain.

He said: "Glen is a top player. There's nothing to stop him going on to be a captain in years to come. He has the lot. He has pace and is great in the air. He has it all. Sometimes he gets a bit casual, but when he is on his game he has the lot.

"Glen was in and out of the team at Chelsea. If he made a mistake he was out. But unless he has a disaster he will be playing every week for me. He's matured and he is a good lad.

"His concentration has improved and perhaps, most of all, his confidence has. Maybe he felt if he made a mistake at Chelsea he was out, but he plays here. I'm a big believer of him."
