Jamie Redknapp believes Manchester United can send a real statement of intent if they manage to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus.

The French midfielder continues to be a serious summer target for the Red Devils and after watching him closely at Euro2016, former Liverpool star Redknapp has backed Jose Mourinho to bring the 23-year-old back to Old Trafford.

“Paul Pogba started Euro 2016 quietly but with every game his star quality has shone even more brightly," he wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

“France have been my team of the tournament and Pogba is a key reason why. He has such an aura about him in midfield and now I want to see him dazzle in the Premier League.

“We already have plenty of big managers... now it's time we landed one of the biggest players.

“They say never go back, but Manchester United will send out a massive statement to their rivals if they sign him."
