Former Tottenham and Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp has likened Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez to his former Reds teammate Michael Owen.

In his column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp wrote: "Javier Hernandez - or Chicharito to his friends - reminds me of a young Michael Owen.

"He's not as quick and doesn't have that explosive pace but he has that same fox-in-the-box movement and I like the way he celebrates his goals, like each one is the first he has ever scored.

"While he is still learning the game, he is like a breath of fresh air for United at this time."
