Liverpool ace Steven Gerrard is enjoying the pressure of the England captaincy.

In his column for the Daily Mail, former Reds teammate Jamie Redknapp revealed: "The word from the camp is that Steven Gerrard is thriving under the pressure of being England captain.

"And it looked like that yesterday, where he continued his excellent personal form.

"Over the three games so far, he has been England's best player and is enjoying the responsibility of replacing Rio Ferdinand as skipper."
