Redknapp jubilant after QPR edge Chelsea

Harry Redknapp was rejoicing after QPR managed to knock off West London rivals Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The R's produced a 1-0 result for their first triumph at Stamford Bridge since 1983 and Redknapp was absolutely thrilled to see his players toil for the entire 90 minutes to beat a much-fancied opponent away from home.

"They worked their socks off tonight and you get your reward if you work like that - and that's what we did," Redknapp told Sky Sports.

"It was a fantastic performance. We restricted Chelsea to very few chances and we deserved it.

"We had good opportunities as well and if the final pass had been better.....we hit some final sloppy passes but then we got that fine goal."

The victory came courtesy of ex-Blues winger Shaun Wright-Phillips' 78th minute goal and Redknapp was delighted with the result which could eventually help the R's drag themselves off the bottom of the table.

"I'm just really pleased with our first away win for over a year," he added.

"They've set the standard tonight and if we're going to get out of this mess then they have to work as hard as that - not just once but every week."
