Redknapp insists he's happy in QPR job

QPR boss Harry Redknapp insists he's enjoying his job, despite their imminent relegation.

A player exodus, eight more league games next term and a team to rebuild. All that at an age when he could retire and play golf every day would be a no-brainer for some.

But Redknapp, 66, said: "I am ready for the challenge. I like football. There are people getting up at the crack of dawn and getting into lorries to drive up and down the motorway all day.

"I haven't exactly got a hard life. I don't think 'Oh, it's so tough having to drive up here in my Range Rover'. I'm not tired at all. When I am, I'll pack up.

"It's not been lack of effort - just lack of quality in certain positions that would have made us good enough.

"I won't be able to relax this summer, I'll be on the phone all the time. But I don't want to talk to football agents.

"If you listen to them you'll end up in the Conference. They just try to sell you rubbish players. You've got to have your own ideas and follow up."
