Redknapp: Ex-Spurs stars can be great for players

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is convinced three of the club's former stars can lift his new squad. Redknapp said: "I don't mind if Les (Ferdinand) comes in and works with the strikers for a couple of days a week - showing how to get across defenders and heading balls.

"Or Teddy Sheringham demonstrating how to drop into space, creating it and scoring goals.

"(Tim) Sherwood can show the midfielders how to turn balls around. Why not? I think they are wasted if you don't use them. I've worked with them.

"When you watched them play, you knew they were clever players but they have information to pass on to younger players so why ignore that?

"Too many people in the game are scared of giving people like that jobs because they are fearful or whatever. I'm not like that.

"I want people to work with the players so if these lads are around, great. Let's get them in."
