Redknapp eager to use loan system to develop Spurs youngsters

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is eager for more of his youngsters to move out on-loan.

Despite being ready to throw some of his young players in at the deep end in the Carling Cup, Redknapp maintains he prefers loaning them out rather than keeping hold of them just to play the occasional cup games.

He said: "I always think the loan system is good. Going out on loan answers a lot of questions about young players.

"If they are good enough they will make a mark. You wait for someone to ring you up and say they are the best thing since sliced bread.

"They have to go to the club loaning them and be outstanding players. It's no good being just part of the team or not in the team.

"If they are not better than the players at Bristol City, Plymouth or Hull then they are not going to play at Tottenham, are they?"
