Redknapp details Spurs plans for ex-Sheffield Utd pair Walker, Naughton

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has detailed the reasons for signing Sheffield United fullback pair Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker.

He told the Spurs website: "The two lads from Sheffield United were the first ones in at the start of the window and I think both have got great futures ahead of them.

"Kyle Naughton has come here and is still learning the game but his chance will come. It is early days for him but he is a player who I can see one day going on to be an England international full-back. He is already in the Under-21 team and we feel there are great things ahead for him. I think right-back is his best position but he can do a job elsewhere and will never let you down. He is a player with a big future.

"We loaned his team-mate Kyle Walker back to Sheffield United to get experience, which he is doing and he will join us next year. I think he has tremendous pace and I believe he is going to be a top player. Our Chief Scout Ian Broomfield went to watch him last week and I hope to go and watch him in the next couple of weeks when our fixtures do not coincide with Sheffield United's."
