Redknapp desperate to keep QPR up for owners' sake

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is desperate to keep the club up for the owners' sake.

Redknapp, whose side travel to Wigan on Saturday hoping for their first away win in the league for 13 months, will meet QPR chairman Tony Fernandes in person next week for the first time since taking over from Mark Hughes.

The Rs boss said: "I think they are genuinely caring people and they deserve some success. They've had a go haven't they? They've spent money in the summer and they've ended up struggling.

"If we can find one or two players that can make the difference in January then it could really kick start us and get us going.

"But we need a couple of results before then. We can't keep getting cut too far adrift."
