Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is dismissive of Manchester City counterpart Roberto Mancini's claim that Spurs will struggle to keep youngster Gareth Bale in the summer transfer window. The 21 year old has put himself in the shop window with some sparkling performances this season which has alerted the cream of Europe.
Mancini went as far as to suggest that should the Wales international leave White Hart Lane Spurs would lose over half of their potential.
However, Redknapp believes Bale will remain in North London for the long term and is not intending to sell the young star.
"Well I don't know why Roberto would talk about Gareth really. It's great to have him here and long may he stay at Tottenham," he told Sky Sports News.
"I don't see any way that he's going to be looking to move. He doesn't want to move and we don't want to sell him.
"If you're building a football club you don't sell young players like Gareth Bale. So he's here to stay hopefully."
