Redknapp committed to Portsmouth

Harry Redknapp insists he remains totally committed to Portsmouth despite hinting he would be interested in becoming the new England boss.

Redknapp, 60, is rumoured to be the leading English candidate to replace Steve McClaren as the next international head coach.

"I am happy at Portsmouth and am just getting on with my job. I do not want to leave here. I want to stay," he told The News.

"Why should I go anywhere else? I am building a good team here and have worked hard to get it where it is. I'm not going to go now.

"I have had a few offers (to leave), I'd be a liar if I said I hadn't, but I'm very happy here.

"I would not want to say who has approached me, I'm not going to start naming names, it's unfair on the clubs involved.

"There's a shortage of managers out there, let's be honest about it. It's hard, where do clubs go? There are not many experienced ones about.

"I would be happy to stay at Portsmouth, though. It's a place I'm very happy at."
