Redknapp blasts Tottenham boo-boys

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has slammed the club's boo-boys.

For their FA Cup win over Fulham, some fans jeered them off at half-time when they trailed 1-0 to the Cottagers in Wednesday's quarter-final replay.

Redknapp said: "I don't know what people who come to Tottenham can boo about. They have seen football out of the top drawer this season.

"You always get people who don't understand the game and they boo just because the team are not winning. They see the scoreboard and just react because the team is losing. Ninety-nine per cent of fans are fantastic - it's only a few idiots.

"It happens everywhere now, if you're losing they moan. It's happening all the time, it's happening at Villa, where manager Martin O'Neill keeps hearing it.

"Fans don't realise what a part they play in lifting the team. If you're going to be a successful club then, when things go wrong, your fans have got to lift you like we have to lift them.

"We didn't do anything wrong the other night at home. We had a real go but Fulham played ever so well and got the opening goal. But some fans booed. It happens."
