Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has blasted midfielder Dele Alli for his potentially leg-breaking challenge in the Europa League fixture with Gent last night.
The England international was shown a red card for his horror tackle on Gent's Brecht Dejaegere in the 39th minute of the 2-2 draw – a result which resulted in Spurs' exit from the competition.
"[Alli] could have finished a fella's career. He could have finished a boy's career," said Redknapp on BT Sport.
"There's no doubt. It was that bad.
"He could have broken the lad's leg, snapped his leg, and that would have been the end.
"He's got to cut that out of his game. He's got that streak in him. I rave about the boy. That tackle is horrendous. He could've finished that fella's career there with that tackle.
"He's not got a decision, you can see his reaction straightaway, he's lost his head. How the fella's not got a broken leg, I do not know. It's a miracle."
