Jamie Redknapp is of the opinion that both Liverpool and Manchester City will be able to finish in the top four this season.
City and the Reds played out a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday and the result perhaps helps neither team in their hopes of finishing in the top four during the current campaign.
Nonetheless, ex-Reds midfielder Redknapp was impressed by what he saw from both sides in the encounter and has backed the two teams to earn a Champions League spot this season ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.
Redknapp told Sky Sports: "I think Arsenal will miss out, possibly United as well.
"From Liverpool's point of view to keep that run going against the top sides is fantastic.
"Now though you are in the lap of the gods. You hope all your players come back from international duty fresh and with no injuries because there are so many important games to come.
"Man City go against Arsenal next and then Chelsea before facing Southampton. There are big games to come but both Man City and Liverpool will finish in the top four."
