Redknapp backs Bournemouth move for Everton great Distin

Former Bournemouth manager Harry Redknapp has hailed Sylvain Distin as a 'fantastic player'.

As rumours circulate that the recently-released Everton defender could be on his way to the newly-promoted Premier League side, ex-Cherries boss Redknapp has welcomed the possible transfer.

Redknapp, who spent successful stints as both player and manager at Dean Court, was commenting on the 37-year old in an interview with the Daily Echo: "He is a fantastic player.

"Forget his age, nobody will run him and he is as quick as lightning.

"He looks after himself, he is in unbelievable condition and is a great lad. He will be a great signing for Bournemouth."

Redknapp also believes experience is just what Eddie Howe will be looking for as Bournemouth look to consolidate in the Premier League.

"He will bring experience and know-how, everything you need in the Premier League. He is a great athlete and very good in the air. He's got everything," Redknapp added.
