Jamie Redknapp has likened Aston Villa wonderkid Jack Grealish to former Real Madrid and Liverpool star Steve McManaman.

It was a wonderful team performance which helped Villa to a fine victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday but one player who stood out was youngster Grealish.

Displaying maturity beyond his years on such a big stage, Grealish produced a stellar showing by creating both of his side's goals in the 2-1 triumph and former Liverpool star Redknapp has stated that the 19-year old's performance reminded him of a certain old colleague.

Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column: 'As for Grealish, for a young man to play like that on his first visit to Wembley was magnificent.

'He is quick but has a languid style, like Steve McManaman. When he drops his shoulder he sends defenders so far the other way they almost have to pay to get back in.'
