Redfearn eyes Premier League with Rotherham

Neil Redfearn is setting his sights high with new club Rotherham United and is targeting promotion to the Premier League with the Millers.

Former Leeds United boss Redfearn signed for Rotherham last week and hopes to take the club out of the Championship and straight into the top flight at first attempt, citing Bournemouth's recent rise and his experiences as a player at Barnsley as motivation.

Asked by Sky Sports News HQ whether he could see the South Yorkshire club in the Premier League, Redfearn said: "Definitely so. As recently as last season Bournemouth got themselves up there.

"I played for Barnsley, who were unfashionable at this level at the time and got into the Premier League.

"This is a club that's capable of going on to the next level - that's what excites me, and it's a real challenge. We've got some talented boys, we want to open their minds, try and develop them and make them stronger.

"It's a tough division to get out of, and I think sometimes it takes a different approach. The club's had lots of recent success - Steve Evans has been a big part of it and has to take a lot of credit. I'm here to pick up the baton."
