Antonio Di Natale has spoken out about the red card which he received in the weekend loss to Chievo. The Italian international was sent off after he placed both hands on Fabio Moro's face and pushed the defender away in retaliation for an earlier incident involving the same Moro for which the Chievo defender only received a caution.
"A one-match ban is acceptable, but I want to point out I did not do anything nasty," said Di Natale.
"I asked the referee why he sent me off and he confirmed that he had not seen my opponent's foul, only my reaction.
"Therefore he sent me off when I thought that I would be booked on a par with the Chievo defender."
