Red Bull Salzburg are set to splash out £1 million for Wolves striker Stefan Maierhofer.
The Express & Star says the clubs are still finalising the fee but the 29-year-old is flying out to Austria this afternoon and will undergo a medical on Monday with a view to signing a two-year contract, plus an option for a further 12 months.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey confirmed: "Stefan has been given permission by Mick and myself to talk to Red Bull Salzburg with a view to a move being concluded over the weekend or Monday or Tuesday."
The turn of events signals a sharp about-turn after boss Mick McCarthy said on Monday that the 6ft 7ins forward would be in his 25-man squad.
