New York's Red Bull Arena will be the venue to host the 2011 Major League Soccer All-Star game. The league announced on Tuesday that the home of the New York Red Bulls will be the site for the match which as of yet does not have a second team.
Early reports suggest that Spanish giants Barcelona could be the club for the All-Star game as they have a link with NYRB through former players Thierry Henry and Rafael Marquez. As well as that, they recently announced a US tour for July and August where they will meet Manchester United, AC Milan and Mexican outfit Club America.
Red Bulls star Henry said he would love it if either of his former clubs, Barcelona or Arsenal, could come to take on the MLS All-Stars.
"If it's Arsenal or Barcelona, it's going to be pretty special if I'm involved," Henry told The Associated Press.
"Arsenal and Barcelona, not only I played there, but I think they are the two teams that play the best football right now in the world."
