Alvaro Recoba ducked controversy with Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini after making his Torino debut in yesterday's 2-2 draw with Reggina.

"I don't know why I didn't play (at Inter)," said Recoba. "You have to respect the decisions of the coach. But confidence is another thing.

"I know that here Walter Novellino has confidence in me. But, if I do not play well, then that confidence can quickly disappear."
