Recent losses will aide Southampton - Rodriguez

Jay Rodriguez believes the recent losses suffered by Southampton will help the team bond and bounce back.

The Saints have lost 2-0 to league leaders Arsenal and 3-1 to second-placed Chelsea over the past two weekends but striker Rodriguez suggests it could be a blessing disguise as they prepare for Wednesday's meeting with Aston Villa at home.

"We've got an inner belief in our team," he told the Southern Daily Echo.

"We've got the team spirit to bounce back. I think the defeats will improve us as a team.

"I think we'll look at the negatives and the positives and take it into the game on Wednesday.

"That's the way we work. We'll just keep positive and look to get three points on Wednesday."

The two losses were just the second and third for the Saints this season as they sit seventh on the Premier League table.
