Recent experiences will make Man City's Hart a better player - Villa's Given

Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given is backing his Manchester City counterpart Joe Hart to keep progressing into a world class player.

The 24-year old England gloveman has emerged into one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League this season and with Champions League experience this term and Euro2012 coming up, Given can only see him getting better.

"Joe has done really well for the last four or five seasons," Given said at the Soccerex conference in Manchester.

"He is at a fantastic club, with some of the best players in the world. And Joe is one of them.

"But the thing is, he is still very young. In goalkeeping terms he has got years ahead of him.

"This year he played in the Champions League, which he hasn't done before, and in the summer he will play in a European Championships, which he hadn't done before.

"That will help him improve. You can't buy experience and the more he plays the more he will gain."
