Real Zaragoza's Alex Sanchez becomes first Liga player without hand

Alex Sanchez made his debut for Real Zaragoza in their defeat to Valencia.

The young midfielder, 20, became the first player to feature in a Liga game with only one hand.

Alex was born without his right hand and was even on the point of quitting the game altogether two years ago. However, the club's scouts saw him playing for the University of Zaragoza and resurrected his career.

Real coach Marcelino called up Sanchez after he had struck 12 goals in just ten games for Zaragoza B.
