Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has played down the prospect of re-signing Asier Illarramendi.

The midfielder is available from Real Madrid.

“We have not made contact with Real Madrid, nor with the player or his representatives.

"So far we have not made any approach their way," said Aperribay.

Illarramendi is a former La Real player.
