Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi says Lionel Messi should've been sent off last night.
La Real lost 1-0 to Barcelona in the first-leg of their Copa del Rey quarterfinal clash.
Illarramendi, formerly of Real Madrid, said: "Messi... that's always been a yellow card offense. But whatever, we have to pick ourselves up."
The Basque player was referring to a moment when Messi stopped him from taking a quick free kick. Illarramendi asked for a second booking but Gonzalez Gonzales didn't see it the same way as him.
It produced a lot of discontent with the home supporters, who turned on the referee.
Illarramendi then tweeted: "Once again the same as always! Once again..."
