Real Sociedad coach Moyes targets Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes

Real Sociedad are eyeing Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes.

New Real coach David Moyes, beyond the outstanding Carlos Vela, does feel his squad lacks firepower and has had No2 Billy McKinlay make a check on Rhodes.

McKinlay, a former Rovers midfielder, knows plenty about his fellow Scot and he and Moyes are now discussing whether the striker could handle a move to Spain.

Rhodes, 24, has 59 goals in 106 games for Blackburn with 73 in 108 for previous club Huddersfield. But he has never played in the Premier League.

Former Manchester United and Everton manager Moyes does expect to have a healthy transfer budget for the winter market.
