Real Sociedad boss David Moyes hopes to sign Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar this week.
Former Everton boss Moyes looks set to turn his attention to Pienaar, 32, after missing out on other targets.
The Daily Star Sunday says Moyes remains eager to sign a Premier League winger and knows Pienaar well from his time at Goodison.
He signed the South African twice for the Blues and is keen to bring him to Spain on loan.
Sociedad have already made contact with the player's agent and believe he would be allowed to leave.
