Liverpool legend John Aldridge saw David Moyes' Real Sociedad defeat Espanyol yesterday.

Aldridge is a former La Real player and was welcomed back by home fans yesterday before kickoff.

Moyes said: "Yes, we spoke. He came to my office in the country and I had a five-minute talk before the game and we will go for a drink today or tomorrow.

"Some of you are very young and do not know him, but Aldridge was a great scorer.

"If he could play a few minutes, I'm sure he would have scored the second goal we needed."

La Real won 1-0 thanks to a Sergio Canales strike.
