Real Salt Lake trade Seitz to Philadelphia

MLS champions Real Salt Lake have traded back-up goalkeeper Chris Seitz to expansion franchise Philadelphia Union.

The trade has handed allocation money to RSL and also came with the promise that the Union would not draft any Real Salt Lake players in yesterday's Expansion Draft.

22-year old Seitz, who is highly-rated throughout the league, looked set to step up to the plate when current Royals number one Nicky Rimando retired but this latest revelation suggests the MLS Cup penalty hero will remain in goals next season.

Reports say that RSL will receive upwards of $200,000 from the Seitz trade which it can use to sign other players but it has not been made official by the league.
