Real Salt Lake forward Alvaro Saborio has been named the MLS Player of the Month for May.

The 28-year old Costa Rica international became just the third RSL player in history to receive the honour for his efforts in scoring four goals and providing three assists during the month.

In that time, the reigning MLS Cup champions won all five matches to put them second in the Western Conference standings, ten points behind tearaway leaders LA Galaxy.
