MLS club Real Salt Lake have progressed to the 2010/11 CONCACAF Champions League final. RSL held off Costa Rican outfit Deportivo Saprissa to land a 3-2 aggregate win despite losing 2-1 in the second leg.
Tuesday in San Jose saw the 2009 MLS Cup winners go into the away leg with a 2-0 lead following the first tie in Utah last month but things turned when Saprissa winger Luis Diego Cordero put his side ahead in the first minute of the second half of the return leg.
RSL managed to grab a leveler through Jamison Olave just after the hour-mark to make it 3-1 on aggregate before the home side found some late hope thanks to Alonso Solis' converted penalty in the 87th minute.
But the MLS club held out the Costa Ricans and booked their spot in the final where they will meet one of two Mexican clubs, Monterrey or Cruz Azul, who face off in the second leg tonight with the former leading 2-1 after the first leg.
