Real Mallorca are chasing free agent Ewerthon.
The former Real Zaragoza striker is returning to Europe after ending his contract with Palmeiras this month.
Mallorca are keen to bring Ewerthon back to Spain.
But they face competition from England, where Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has confirmed his interest in the 29 year-old.
