Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy rejected a move to Roma on Monday, it has been revealed.
According to Italian sources, Real president Florentino Perez offered the former Manchester United striker to Roma - for free.
The Italians were ready to close a deal - but Van Nistelrooy rejected the switch before the European transfer deadline fell on Monday night.
