Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in the US this week for a check on his knee.
The Real Madrid striker boarded a plane yesterday bound for Colorado as he seeks answers from renowned knee specialist, Dr Richard Steadman.
An MRI scan last Friday show that Van Nistelrooy had damaged his knee and he will meet with Steadman to assess if he needs to go under the knife.
