Real Madrid star Rafael van der Vaart says he learned his game on the streets.

"It is true that my family lived in a caravan, and still lives there," said Van der Vaart. "In Spain, this seems strange, but it is quite normal in Holland and has nothing to do with the economic situation of a family.

"It's a lifestyle that's very Dutch, very free. And in those circumstances, I was able to play football. I am a street footballer. And on the street come the majority of talented football players. It's the place to learn."
