Real Madrid fullback Miguel Torres has paid tribute to Pedja Mijatovic after the sports director left the club yesterday.

Torres said: "I owe my career to him.

"As a player, I only have appreciation for Pedja. As a member of management he was one of the people who wanted me in the first team when I came up from the Castilla with Michel and joined Fabio Capello.

"I can only thank him and wish him the best in the future."
