Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain insists Cristiano Ronaldo was not angry after their victory over Tenerife.

Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain insists Cristiano Ronaldo was not angry after their victory over Tenerife.

Ronaldo caused controversy by ignoring coach Manuel Pellegrini's outstretched hand as he was substituted late on.

But Higuain says: "Honestly, the rotations the coaches are making are accepted by us, because at the end of season it is when most are suffering and therefore it's important to do it now.

"Every player likes to play, but I have not seen Cristiano angry."

On Real Madrid's stilted playing style so far this season, the Argie added: "It's normal for there are many new signings. It's all about time.

"The best thing is we're scoring lots of goals and keeping a clean sheet. The rest will come because there are players here good enough to play very good football."
