Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster will start tonight's Champions League clash against Werder Bremen with Fernando Gago anchoring his midfield.

Schuster is turning to the Argentine youngster due to Mahamadou Diarra's injury and Gago says: "I hope to play and hope things go well.

"I haven't spoken to the coach. We chatted at the start of the season and his words gave me a lot of confidence. Whether he calls on me for five or 90 minutes, I want to show that I am capable of playing for Madrid.

"I feel I have Schuster's confidence."

Gago added: "Real Madrid have a great squad. The players who do not start here, would walk into anyother team. But we all need to show this on the field."
