Napoli have been put on notice after Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro declared he wants to return to his hometown club.

The Italy captain said yesterday: "I have always been a fan of Napoli, my heart is a big influence, which is normal, and I would like to return.

"Naples is a city that draws you in, it has a spirit and an energy. One even goes around the world but then, sooner or later, has to return to Naples.

"Napoli at the end of my career would be a dream."
