Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema admits he quit Olympique Lyon after falling out with coach Claude Puel.
Benzema had declared last season he intended to stay with OL until after the World Cup, but eventually signed with Real in the summer.
"I wanted to do one more year in Lyon, but I had no comfort. It was the right choice," Benzema told RMC radio.
"I did not get along very well with the coach (Claude Puel). Lyon has taught me everything, but I had no competition there. So sometimes I did not train very well, because I knew I would play the weekend.
"It's different here, I must work hard, even in training."
