Real Madrid youngster Raphael Varane is grateful for the support of coach Jose Mourinho.

Varane has been granted an extended first team chance this season by Mourinho.

"He offered me a good project, intended to work with me and help me to move forward. I was asked to play with the first team to try and compete with other players and try to win a place," said Varane.

"Thereafter, for me it was an irresistible project."
