Real Madrid have withdrawn their bid for Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery.

Tz says Real have dropped their pursuit of the Frenchman, with GM Jorge Valdano declaring: "Ribery is no longer a concern for Real Madrid."

Asked about threats from Bayern that they will take Real to FIFA, Valdano added: "I do not understand why they've said that. We have not even spoken to the player. Only with Bayern and that was a long time ago."
