Real Madrid are willing to splash out big to prise Gareth Bale away from Tottenham. The Sunday Telegraph says Real Madrid are ready to test Tottenham's insistence that Bale is not for sale at any price this summer by making a £60 million bid for the Wales international.
As part of his negotiations to succeed the Chelsea-bound Jose Mourinho as Real's coach Carlo Ancelotti has been promised by club president Florentino Pérez that a bid could be made for Bale. He is the Italian's No 1 target.
An offer would appear to renege on a letter Real are understood to have sent Spurs chairman Daniel Levy this year promising that they would not try to sign Bale at present.
Even so, Spurs are determined not to sell the player, with Levy adamant that the 23-year-old will not go, even if Real, or any other club, make a big offer.
