Real Madrid are launching a mega bucks bid for Tottenham star pair Luka Modric and Gareth Bale. The Daily Star Sunday says the double raid for the Spurs pair would cost at least £100million next summer - but Real coach Jose Mourinho reckons they are worth the huge outlay.
And that news will be a major worry for Spurs manager Harry Redknapp as he battles to build and retain a squad capable of winning regular Champions League football and pushing for the Premier League.
Redknapp is convinced he can persuade Bale, still only 21, to remain in N17 for at least one more season. But keeping Modric away from the Spanish giants will prove a lot harder.
Mourinho has been amazed at the Croatia playmaker's impact for the north Londoners in the last two seasons and desperately wants to work with him.
