Real Madrid are watching Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas.

El Confidencial says Real are keeping tabs on the youngster as they seek cover for Xabi Alonso.

Real reps are in Brazil this week for talks over Santos star Neymar and are also in contact with Sao Paulo to register their interest for Lucas.

They will soon be joined by Real directors Miguel Pardeza and Javier López Farré as transfer plans are stepped up in South America.
